Center resonator options

Mine is on its way out. I'll JB weld the seam leaks to buy some time, but need some advice on options.

Details
- It's a 2004 4.4 with the 4.8 exhaust on it. From what I can tell the resonator (and I would assume the cats) are all from a 4.8. The PO put that and the 4.8 trim on it. Part number on the resonator is 1810 7531830-03 (Zeuna Starker 204 8629 018).
- I tow sleds in the winter and my track car in the warmer months, so I need the performance to be maintained or better (no torque drop mid-range).

Options
1. Supersprint
https://www.ecstuning.com/b-superspr...onator/789103/
2. Magnflow
https://www.magnaflow.com/products/1...eel-tru-x-pipe
3. Find a used 4.8 replacement

Anyone have similar installs to either 1 or 2?

Thanks in advance!

Bump. Anyone with a 4.4, modified centre resonator (after market, x-pipe, etc) and 4.8 rear mufflers that tows? Insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

I want to remove the resonator on my 4.8 but will likely be awhile before it happens. Other projects keep pushing modding the 4.8 back.

Got the Tru-X Pipe installed. I like it.

It goes in for body work this weekend, Tire balance next week and deep detailing a few weeks later.

I like that, sounds good

It's on my list of things to do as well, right after I get the "needs to be done" things finished

Anyone upgraded a 3.0i with an X-pipe instead of the center resonator?

After putting an intake and a 4.6iS exhaust on my 3.0i, I am left wanting for more noise.

Update. Low end torque is definitely affected. The transmission will upshift too early. Rev it up past 3K and no issues and it winds out nice. I'm debating doing an adaptation reset so maybe the trans will learn the new lack-of-back-pressure setup. Thoughts? Anyone else reset after the x-pipe install?

Thanks!
