check engine

ok kind of bad news, the other post i talk about replacing valve cover gasket, and following the repair on my way home i get a check engine, so i went back to the garage and he told me its a gas trim code and he will erase it and come back if the check engine come again... but it never came... what it mean ? problem went away ? or problem still here but ECM took in consideration we knew the problem and wont show a check engine since it was erase ??

theres no way the problem disappear by magic in my believe so whats the bottom line ???

check engine

Quite often an error will trip once only. Especially after a major repair.

Do you recall the precise error?

Fuel trim error can be reset in a way that forces the ecm to re learn the fuel trims. In this case if there is a problem it will come back but might take a month or more.

At this point you don't have to worry but you can use a scanner that will show real-time fuel trims and see if they are normal
