OEM Exhaust Cam position sensor or aftermarket?
What is the recommendation on OEM vs Aftermarket sensors? M54 3.0 2001. I replaced one before my headgasket project due to a low idle CEL setting off the code. I have the original plus one from NAPA. I'm getting a CEL generally if I go to start the car and let go of the key before it actually starts. Any ideas on the cause? I rebuilt the vanos when I did the headgasket and it's been running great otherwise.

OEM only on internal engine sensors. I have bought from Amazon and In one case the BMW logo was sanded off.
That was before I knew about fcpeuro.

Also: I set my idle 50 higher to have the car not shake in gear at idle.
