At 260K miles, it is a lot of miles but...

1. For Electronic Injection cars, don't throw parts trying to solve problem.
It is expensive and usually does not work.

2. The above codes tell you something is wrong with the emission system.

P1419 Secondary Air Fault, usually dead Pierburg Air Pump.
If you have no inspection in your state, then you can live with it.
New Air Pump is about $200 or so. Junk yard part may work.

The"P03xx" codes are misfire...
P0301
P0305
P0300

3. My rubber boot feeding the ICV is cracked at 140K (photo in forum).
Was your rubber boot cracked when you clean the ICV?

A crack boot would have given you a P0171 or P0174 code since unmetered air is entering the intake and to compensate for this unmetered air the computer would have added fuel to the fuel trim. You might have gotten a misfire code since lean cylinders do not produce as much power as non-lean cylinders. Fuel trim would have directed you to a lean condition and through experience, you could have look for a vacuum leak.

Red face Bad news compression test

I wish I had done this first. Cylinder 1 pressure only at 35. To my surprise noid light at connecter #1 lit up. So I'm thinking rings stuck or broken. I have quite a bit of blow by which kind of confirms that. It could still be a stuck valve but I doubt it. Also, spark plug had an oil film. So. I didn't check the other cylinders yet. With funnel I put in a about an ounce of seafoam, cranked it a few times, put in a bit more now I'm going to wait for a few hours and crank it some more without spark to clear cylinder then check pressure again.

At 35, Seafoam isn't going to fix it. You have a serious problem. Stuck valve, bent valve, broken rings, burned valve. Check the other cylinders and see what you get. It can give you an idea of what is wrong among the list above.

I checked cylinder 5 at it shows 100. If I could narrow it down to a problem with valves or head I have a shot. I think I could take it off myself and bring it somewhere for repair. If it's the rings I gotta give up for sure. I also could try for a used engine. At least I have a clue now. Super depressing. I went ahead and put some seafoam in. For now I'm just going to take a break from it. Get to work and wrap my head around the fail. The bitter part is the money I wasted on all those parts and CV joints and driveshaft etc. I wonder about just driving it all messed up for now. At least for groceries and what not.

Misfires in those old engines could be traced to spark plugs, ignition cable, point or distributor. A misfire in modern computer-controlled engines means the computer has detected that a cylinder or cylinders are not producing the same amount of power as other cylinders. The computer can see the crank rotational speed when the cylinder fires. Fuel trim data can provide you with an insight as to how the engine is performing. If the computer is adding fuel to the fuel trim, it means the cylinder(s) is running lean. You will not be able to detect this condition without a scanner that can provide real-time data. Unless you like throwing parts at the problem, I suggest that you bring it to a tech that knows what they are doing.
A cylinder that has only 35 psi of compression is definitely going to produce less power than the other cylinders, but you have other cylinders with misfires. Before saying it the ring, it could be that the timing is off. Could be the vanos is stuck and not timing the engine correctly.

Even 100 is low. Something is not right.

The dreaded Vanos was on my original list of items to try. To me that always seemed like a mysterious item that I hoped I would never encounter. Maybe I could try and narrow it down to that. I only checked those two cylinders based on the codes and short of time before work. I'm going to check the rest tomorrow for a more complete picture, and watch some videos on that damn Vanos situ. Thanks all for ideas.

A leak-down test will tell you if it is the rings or valves.

All that tells you is that the injector is getting a signal (grounding signal) from the DME that the injector should open.
