I've had the slotted on my 4.8is for something like 9 or 10 years now and on the E39 for over 15 years. A few years ago, I did change the X5 to 6 pots up front cause, cool. But I've never had any noise problems with them. Did yours squeak?

I have the rear on my 4.8is. They're OK, but I wouldn't say that they're worth anything but the aesthetics- and even then barely so. I will likely keep them stock.

No squeak. It was like a loud rumbling under hard braking. Not a noise I get with a smooth rotor.

My slotted rotors on my E46 make noise too under hard braking. I may go blanks when it's time to change them.

I dunno if they make noise on the X5. With all the BFD and EMERGENCY BRAKING flashing on the MID with a Christmas tree of lights thanks to my iBus settings, my ears give way to my eyes- and what the hell ever it is I am trying to avoid.
