X5 Noise from M54 Engine

Hello, I have been wanting to troubleshoot a issue. Currently my car has been making weird noises like a rumbling. I tryed different oil, and new oil filter housing cap(Someone told the oil separater could cause issues)Here is a audio clip of the noise.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions

Is the rattling noise on the left side? LHD driver side? It could be the DISA valve rattling. Go get a cheap mechanic stethoscope at Harbor Freight. I have one. It's one my best tools to find rattles and noises.

Honestly....doesn't sound too bad to me. I hear the sound of the injectors clicking and the alternator whining.

Any fault codes for the VANOS? Maybe it's the VANOS rattle.
That type of rattle sounds like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAyQBiV5GbI

Using the PASoft, there are no Vanos codes. The car in general has no codes. The only one is the Thermal Oil Sensor, but I don't think it matters much. I check the oil regularly.

Listening to the video, When I rev the sound goes away, or it just gets overpowered by the revving. But I do not hear the same noises when I rev like in the video.

EDIT: What are the symptoms of a failing alternator?

I will be checking it out later today. I am going to take it out and see if the flap is messed up.

I took a video just reving it. I mean the sounds disappears while at high rpms. Just idle is when it sounds like that
