Yeah, I meant writing the VIN - I kinda mis-read your message...

INPA is certain supposed to be able to to a steering sensor calibration...

I can install it right now…… or send if off the Module Masters for
a warranty overhaul. Since my back is killing me this week, I’m tempted
to ship it off. If the trifecta will disappear and I can get a state inspection, then I’m more inclined to put it in.

WWOGD?

Guys
Do
I would just put it in, code the vin and clear the codes. Hopefully that settles it.

Then something new will pop up a week later to annoy you.

Hahaha, SO true!!

Last time I called for a quote to get the cracked windshield replaced, the car promptly punished me with an ABS failure.... it likes the broken screen! Now I leave the cracked glass alone to stave off any other worse problems, there always has to be one thing to fix on an e53 it seems :-)

ABS dates of manufacturing

I compared the defective module against my replacement module.
They are less than 1 month apart. Both are from X5.
If I bolt this in, what dash lights will be lit?
Should I just bolt that sucker in place?

Not having any luck with a local BMW coding person.

Why can't you just buy pa soft and do it yourself? Takes like 5 minutes to change the vin and reset the module with it.

I've been wondering if can program the module with foxwell. I've been able to zap one back into behaving after remove and replace with foxwell but never tried to VIN match. Similarly I only have Mac but I do run windows 7 with parallels and have considered getting inpa etc running so I can code.
