CD/AUX/Bluetooth options for CD/Cassette setups

Has anyone tried converting their CD connection to Bluetooth? Seems there is now an option. Yea, china made.

Does this match the CD connection? Mine has a business CD option. It's only used as phone clip holder now.

Who still uses CDs?

Interesting find! I saw in the listing that two additional components are required if you have DSP. But the links to those components are missing. There are a few similar eBay listings. The ones I checked are also missing the links.

With DSP1 amplifier, the device is needed for the 3 + 6 changer cable and an additional DSP adapter.(Not included)

Here you will find the right device for the CD changer connection.

Here you will find the right device for the round pin connection.

I still use CDs! But since I have a tape player in the dash (use those too!) I put a Grom bluetooth adapter in the trunk in place of the 12-disc changer. I am not sure if you can plug that into the dash CD player connection.

I'd be curious if it works with the steering wheel buttons. I.E. changing to next song or back.

My X5 is out of state or I would try one. Some steering wheel control is possible: Title control on the radio / steering wheel. If no one tries it out, I will. However, it may be a few months before I can try it.

Well I guess saying steering wheel control, volume is going to be a given--when using the stock HU. But i'm referring to changing songs and such with the adapter.

I believe the GROM works with the steering wheel controls, but I am not sure. I don't have a smartphone so it does not work for me (only the volume). It displays the song title or phone number on the dash. I can say that it works basically plug-and-play, except you have to run the microphone from the trunk up to the dash (but that was pretty simple).

There are some different models so you may want to see what they each do:

Bdc101,
Nice!
Review Quote from an X5 owner: "2006 BMW X5 4.8iS, This was super easy to install. Turned out I dont need the DSP Coaxial from the 6 Disc Changer in the back - so check the back of your CD Changer before ordering. I decided to use the Factory Bluetooth for Phone, and the GROM BT-3 for Music Streaming and they transition seamlessly when a call comes in, and music resumes when the call ends. 10/10, will be ordering the same for the e39. Thanks."

I'll definitely look at the option. I'll look for the easiest way to get Bluetooth and XM installed. An XM subscription will be moved to the X5 when it's daily duty ready.

I assume the rear CD connector is there in my X5. It only has business CD installed. Is there a setting to recognize or switch to a CD changer?

The CD/bluetooth connector is here!
Unfortunately, it will be a few weeks before installation and testing. I need to go do the suspension work to get it back from out of state.
