I have mixed emotions, but just like CW I have a thing for derelict Bimmers myself. Good luck, I hope she starts for you. I would highly suggest (as others have) removing the door panels and the easily removable body trim to make sure there are no surprises. Also its very possible that the paraphernalia were left by he thief. Theft and amphetamines often go hand in hand.

I like it! That will be a fun car to detail and should shine up nicely. Your battery has been charging long enough now....does it start?

You could take it to the local police station with K-9s and ask them to sniff out the car for fun.

I’m Sorry, My comment was crass.
Rude and without thought.

Congratulations on your new purchase.
Should be a real looker when you get the bugs out.
(Pardon the pun)

Battery is charged up. Holding off on trying to start it until I have enough time to get the wiring straightened out. Speaker wires have been cut and “spliced” together leading to the amp. The aftermarket amp is gone, so loose wires in the back.

Going to at least tape them off before giving it any power.

Good news: found a couple local people parting out, hopefully sourcing wiring / plugs this weekend. Maybe some OEM gps items to get it looking factory again.

Pulling out interior this weekend and giving it a deep clean. Hopefully not too many more surprises.

I’m all for trying to save it. Not too many 4.8is, especially LeMans, in my area. I always drool whenever I see a 4.6 or 4.8 cruising around.

No worries bro. It was pretty funny to find that stuff in the vehicle. Typical for the NW, unfortunately. It’ll be nice to take some before / after pics once I get it all buttoned up.

picked up a LeMans blue from auction..

Nice find, I’d go thru the whole car to make sure there’s no more paraphernalia in there. I bought a 750i a few years ago and I took it to my buddies shop to get some custom work done. While putting the system in he found a large amount of cocaine. If he didn’t find it and I got pulled over and searched…I’d be so fucked. I ran a dealership at the time so I was able to find out the previous owner and it turns out he was a bouncer at a club. Not bad for 2 g’s otherwise. Sounds like all the broken things are not expensive and easy diy’s. Pray there is no coolant leaking from the back of the block, it could be a coolant pipe o-ring that’s .25$ but replacing it runs about 2500-4500. They make a shortcut tube that cuts the labor in half. Good luck Enjoy it!
