Almost no one touches the White Witch, probably because it gets hotter than two mice screwing in a wool sock.

A couple thoughts:

1) the title of the thread could be: "testing Murphy's law"

2) reminds me of my literal genius friend who once said out loud "I've never been hit with a water balloon" while watching a balloon fight from a distance

3) micro scratches are prob on the order of 0.0002" deep (1/5000). The Clear coat is probably 7-10x that thick and can easily be polished out

Micro scratches have never been a problem. However, about every two years I use a buffing wheel with Zaino prep liquid to prepare the paint for the waxing process which is always 3-5 coats.

I had our X5M ceramic coated about a year and a half ago. It's about time to do it again. Same carwash and no issues either.

I have only changed the carwash I use once since 4.6 was new. I think my experience is due to the care and maintenance 'schedule' I have always adhered to. Where one lives has a lot to do with it. When I lived in Michigan it was much harder to keep the paint looking as it should. 'In the good ol' days' of hand washing I remember waxing my car about once a month to keep the paint looking great.

In the old days... before the dark times...

I got a chuckle out of that too. Now when I hand wash a car I think of the time it takes and wonder how I ever had so much "free" time to do such things.

Exact same thought that goes through my head! When I was 18 I bought my first MR2 and I washed and waxed it every wednesday. Every single wednesday. I haven't waxed a car in seven years now.

I’ve done paint corrections, and ceramic coatings twice now in the last year. Should I call it a come back.!? LoL..

Yeah early twenties, wax sometimes twice a week. Washes every 3-4 days. Those days are long gone.

Hmmm…. I wonder if it was even necessary.?

You don't have to wonder: nope

However, you do what brings you "happy" ness. So was it worth is is definitely more important question.

When I had my Z28 I would hand glaze vs. wax because it was instant and holy shit shiny and I would do on every special occasion.

You would maybe have to do a smoke test to determine if you have a leak on one of the hoses involved in the evap system.
