Spinning Cage behind front bumper
Front bumper - the front bolt near the inner PDC sensor - spinning on the cage nut. Just short of cutting the head off, is there some secrete sauce on getting behind it. No access from top or bottom since the pesky bolt is holding it tight. |

I had to replace those cage nuts when in a similar situation. I'm trying to remember how I got them off...
I was either able to get a couple of strong picks under them and hit them with the impact to get them out, or I applied slight pressure pulling the bumper away from the carrier while using the impact and that was enough to hold the nut. I think I got lucky though. Sounds like yours are corroded or cross threaded.

Tried the bumper pull tension with no effect - sigh
The obvious option is to Dremel the head off I suppose. |

What about a set of needle nose voice grips or long needle nose pliers? I've used that method before on stuck fasteners.
Oh, and to answer your original question, no access is possible from behind the reinforcement bar. Unfortunately.

I had to cut around them to remove my front bumper cover. I used a Dremel I believe but a better way is to use a diamond drill bit for stone with no center bit and an angler grinder. I used a big washer over the hole to reattach and I actually forgot if I replaced the spring nuts or offset self tapping screws into the metal bumper.

Can you get a welder to tac weld the cage nut so it would stop spinning? Then once bumper is off then get a grinder and cut off defective nut then buy new? A lot of mobile welders exist.
