Fuel System Part, Level Sender Adapter

Fellow Members,

I can't seem to find a part on any diagrams, but it is present in my 2005 X5 4.4. There's a collar, made of plastic, called the "Fuel Tank Level Sensor Adapter Ring" on the E60, that I can't find on RealOEM or any parts page. This is perched on the fuel tank and it is what the metal screw cap actually screws to that hold the level sensor in. It effectively clamps the sender to the tank.

Any ideas where I can buy this part? The part looks like the following part number : 16146750466

wpoll will become famous soon enough
RealOEM doesn't show such a part on the e53 so maybe your current fuel pump/sender unit is not from an e53 but from an e60...

It looks like it's not sold separately for E53 but comes with the tank. The cap itself has the same part nr. on E53 and E6x but the rubber seal is different so difficult to say if that E6x part would work on E53.

That would suck. I have no desire to buy a new tank, just for that part. I'll wait for my mechanic to come back with a resolution. I appreciate the assistance and confirmation of my fears.

Found It

I finally found the part, or at least I hope so. Reassembling the crumbled wreck of what was left, I found what I guess was the part number. 1182903 was followed by a space and then 1614. Putting the numbers together, oddly with the second series first, you get 16141182903, which is NOT found on Real OEM for the E53.

I've ordered this part from FCPEuro and will report back if it is actually the right thing. It is listed as BMW Fuel Tank Mount. It looks like the part, so I figured it was worth a shot.

And apparently my car. I guess I'll know when I get it.
