(All Season)Tyres for the 4.8is

The X5 I recently acquired seems to have a very slow leak in probably all four tyres... its also fitted with what appear to be very high quality ditch finders so I'm inclined to junk them and replace all four tyres (my bank account is looking very empty).

The car is really only used for longer trips with the family.. never going to be driven enthusiastically and its a big old SUV anyway. I usually run two sets of wheels and summer and winter tyres because my in laws live near Geneva and we will often drive there for Christmas as well as an annual ski trip into the Alps (so proper winter tyres were definitely needed).

I'm hearing rather good things about the Michelin Cross Climate 2s though and was contemplating just fitting those and save myself the hassle of swapping/ storing wheels (and huge ones in this case!). My plan is slightly scuppered though in that Michelin don't seem to make the Cross Climate 2 in the stupid size the X5 needs on the rears (They do make the fronts though).

Tyre sizes are 275/40/R20 fronts and 315/35/R20 rears.

Goodyear do make the Vector 4 Season Gen 3 in the right sizes so I could go with those but they're a bit more winter biased unlike the Cross Climates.

Alternatively I could put Cross Climates on the front and the Vectors only on the rear.

Oh and we need to drive over to Geneva in a couple of weeks or so.

Or just give up on the whole idea of all season tyres and just fit some normal summer tyres on it for now and deal with winter tyres later in the year (that does mean spending more than twice as much though and we don't drive enough for it to even out over time as the tyres will likely get swapped due to age before wear).

Anyone running all season tyres on a 4.8is? What have you done for?
