It’s been awhile since I did mine, but if I remember correctly, I put a jack under the control arm and lifted it to allow for a straight shot at it.

On that spot I've used 7 mm allen to 10 mm hex bit and 10 mm ratched wrench. No problems.

Nice. I read the board weekly. I had not come across this engineering marvel. The rear was already safely positioned before I realized the access issue. Only a set of hex bits were available. The 3/8 drive set has enough length to use a wrench. An 8mm worked. I did have to tap one with a ratchet to loosen up the slide bolt.

Interesting. I wonder if it's the same engineer that decided to use 5/8" bolts and nuts. Or a tool kit missing 18mm and 21mm wrenches.

as for the tool kit, it's only really for changing the battery and swapping the spare.

I mean socket and open wrench sets. Mine have neither sizes. I once had to buy a 20mm to use on someone's car. Now, I keep it on one of my large 1/2" ratchets so I don't lose it. Amazon overnight delivery saved the day when I ordered an offset wrench set. The special one being 21/23 mm. I wanted it mostly for their length and offset access. They work great on suspension bolts. No one in Austin had a 21 mm offset wrench! It would take days to get one from mostly local parts stores. Now, I have a nice shiny set to use.
