Brake pedal pad too wide

I would suggest you do some research, but the E53 3.0 came as a manual as well as an auto (trans)

The manual trans E53 brake pedal is narrower...Part # 35211165694...if you buy it new be sure to buy the rubber pad: #35211160422

But I bet you can find the pedal used on Ebay or elsewhere. It was used in several BMW's

I had the same thought… But the issue is that the manual pedal is the same distance from the gas pedal.

The real answer is probably to just bend the pedal arm.

That's the way I learned to drag race, then I drove that way for years (on the street, too), until my left leg (brake) became hard to use with a very bad knee and chronic sciatica there. I occasionally still drive that way, but soon have to stop when it hurts.

I have small feet, but this is STILL how I operate my feet, just so I can keep both active

It wasn’t so much the distance from the gas pedal but more getting past the lip of the wide brake pedal. The narrower manual pedal sounds interesting. I used to be able to shoot basketball with my left hand (right handed) in the olympics but I don’t think I will risk it on the roads with my left foot. ��

Replace auto pedal with manual pedal.

Heh workingonit, just wanted to say that is a really good suggestion. The only problem with left foot on the brake for me is that it pushes my left knee hard up against the steering wheel. With my right leg I seem to have room at the right side. I even have the steering wheel all the way up and seat down. But, I will definately give it a try. thanks

I wear my workboots and drive these cars just fine.
I think you're just an oversized human, and that's just fine, but adapting is the world you live in (doorways must be a problem for hitting your head)

the best solution here would be to remove the brake pedal assembly. install onto a bench workvise. using an oxy-acetylene torch, hammers, big pipe wrench, heat up the steel to red, and make a dog-leg in the lower third of the arm. shifting the pedal pad left maybe an inch. you will lose some height, but i think that's workable.
