Dashcamera rear fuse box accessory

Hello. E53 2004 x5 3.0. I have a garmin dashcam mini 2 with the parking mode attachment. It has three wires. Power ground and accessory. The power and the ground are ran to the battery but I’m unsure which accessory I can tap off the rear fuse box? Any suggestions? TIA

All rear fuses are continuous voltage (Terminal 30).

I assume it’s a trigger wire? If so, you can tap the rear back up lights from the bundle running across the very back of the car under the floor. Bentley has the pin outs and color. Happy to look at my solution if you can’t find it.

Yes it would be a trigger wire. Can you tell me which bundle and what color wire I’m looking for? TIA

Might take a few days. I’m traveling, but will take a look when I get back home

Found a couple pics I took during the installation, which jogged my memory. I didn’t want the camera on all the time so I wired the trigger (from the back up lights), 12v power from a fuse tap in the right rear cubby, and the lead for camera power all into a relay. That way the camera only comes on when I select reverse.

First pic is of the relay:

Second pic is of the trigger wire plumbed into the backup light power wire. Find the big wire bundle running across the back of the car, under the floor panel and dig around until you find the blue/yellow wire. Put a volt meter on it and look for 12v when a helper puts the car in reverse, just to make sure you’ve got the right one.

Happy to send higher quality pics if you pm me your email address
