The wiring in the cubbyhole is still a mess as I haven’t gotten around to cleaning it all up. I added the sub and the wiring for the backup cam, trigger, power tap, and the Sirius antenna I ran all run thru there.
what method did you use to clamp that powered sub down securely, other than the cord mess it doesn't look too bad, does it rattle when you cover it up too?

Gravity…it’s pretty heavy so it doesn’t bounce around. I did put several layers of bubble wrap at the bottom of the cubby for it to rest on. No rattles, etc.

You're not kidding. These old JL Audio slash amps run WARM. Probed one of the 5 channels at 120F over the regulated power supply area.

The audio though... is amazing.

Yeah, that’s pretty much where I’m at with it right now. I want to clean it up and fab a nice mount someday, but the X5 is a beggar and always wants something. It’s working great so someday I’ll get around to it. The amp install on the other side is cleaner.

Im home for a few days so I was going to finally throw parts at the fuel vent and leak diagnostic crap in the left rear wheel well today to see if I can solve my intermittent related codes and SES, but the battery on my wife’s 2015 Jeep GC is failing. I’ve had the parts for a year, but so much for x5 work.

I’m a huge fan of my new GooLoo battery pack, which got it started with no drama. Maint menu went from showing below 8 v, to 11 as soon as the pack was attached.

nothing wrong with that, I have the same setup just secured more in that little right hand side cubby, being a music fanatic and DJ I am very particular with my sound and this is more than enough for the E53 imo
