Interior Door Handle Wear & Tear

Can this same method be applied to the E53 models? Finally going to repair just the black interior door handle bracket and was about to order these from amazon but wanted input here first? Per usual I'm just doing to repair driver and passenger side brackets

Interior Door Handle Wear & Tear

I did the repair on my e70. Was about 1/3 the price of the e53 handles I can find on Amazon. Might want to also check eBay if you can find new.

With door card removed it should be a very easy fix.

Found pairs for $60 eBay.

it looks like the e53 you have to take the door panel off as opposed to the e70 lol I may just get them wrapped in leather then, such a hassle taking off the door panel imo

Interior Door Handle Wear & Tear

I was quite happy to find out no door dissembling. I did the repair while waiting for my son to come out of practice.

I'm not certain need to take apart door I thought you already were planning on it.

While looking for good price on Amazon I found snap on wraps. They only cover the visible part. I had to replace mine because of a flawed design the e70 handle self destructs over time I didn't remember that happening on my e53 but I think that car had the upgraded leather inner door handles. the

I didn't buy the amazon bracket yet, found one older thread just now that says in order to replace the bracket for an E53 the door panel must come off as well

this looks like a much better and cheaper alternative, question is will it fit an E53?

Interior Door Handle Wear & Tear

Oops I just noticed Amazon picked the wrong car but I am pretty sure I saw the e53 version earlier

No luck finding snap on version but did find this for $23 a side:

Car Door Handles for BMW X5 E53 1999-2006 Front Front Left Right Side Interior Door Handles Replace Cover Car Door Pull Handle Accessories (FL, Black) https://a.co/d/9yRS1g0

Would have to pull the door card from our understanding but I've done it many times it's not difficult when you don't go in past the vapor barrier.
