Door seals

An eBay front left door seal was installed Wed. I broke some skin under a fingernail while pushing the seal. Dang it hurts. I'm surprised how well the seal fit. It's identical to the OEM seal. High quality. It was a single length unlike OEM seals. I hid the split under the door pinch seam cover. The dash and pinch seam are so tight, it took me an hour to install it. A 1"x4" and a panel trim tool were used to press and squeeze the seal into place. The dash to door weld seem is very tight. For that area, use plenty of WD40 or grease. If the metal U snap clips bend, remove and try another section. The OEM seal is on the right. The felt part is not on the replacement. Good in one way. Dirt is not trapped on the felt. The aftermarket seal is wider on the inside part too. It clips on harder too. Depth channel wise are almost identical. While cutting a piece off the OEM seal, I found where they plastic weld or heat the door seal. The heat weld makes it a one piece. If one is careful, the replacement can be heat welded to make it one piece too. I have tools to plastic weld. I may try plastic welding one of the other door seals. The door does closed harder. Europarts on evilbay sells them.
