Anyone running the Bilstein B12 kit with Eibach springs???

This kit is widely available...always showing a stock photo versus ACTUAL shock included in kit. ECS swears they are Bilstein B6 shocks in this kit, but I've heard that they are B8's. I happened upon the Eibach springs on a deal and want to ensure I add the correct shocks are purchased to match them. Can ANYONE confirm the shock part numbers from this kit? Pro-kit is p/n 46-189523

Hi. I actually ordered these .. five months ago .. and they just came in the other day. They are sitting on the workbench. I'm going to order the top hats and stuff.

I can get some pics and get the numbers for you after work. I'm pretty sure they are b8 shocks but let's verify the numbers

Thank you so much! Are you moving from Air Suspension or no?

No, stock springs. The rears look fun to do. We'll see how bad I throw the alignment out. The first time I did this I didn't know to mark the stupid bolts.

The front axle I've had apart twice except I never touched the 4 large m16 pinch bolts. They are the most corroded parts on the entire car and I don't think are going to come off.

I have no interest in disassembling the front assembly. Will have the good fronts and rears up for sale as a drop in, 130k, some light rust but still ride great, some good life left.

They look nice right. So are they b6 or B8s?

The part number in the packing slip is the same 46-189523

Fascinating. So, those are all B6, as ECS had guaranteed from the B12 pro-kit. Eibach claims that their springs can be paired with either B6 or B8...but what I found from online research was retailers claiming B6 in the kit and users claiming B8's were received. B6 will be a lot easier to source in the US, I just had a bad experience when funning them on my 4.8is. This will be for a 6sp 3.0i...so I'll probably have better feel with the lighter engine and SAV overall. Reason I asked about air ride, is that when purchasing a kit like the B6/H&R springs "conversion kit"...they don't include a VERY necessary item (p/n 31332283379). You should already have these to move over from stock setup. Without them, I blew through my top mounts in the front within 6mo! Make sure you have these upper strut mount washers when you move to B6. Thanks for checking on p/n for me. I can now finish building my shopping cart!

Well, I'm a little bit pissed, as the b8s generally are for lowered cars, which was the whole point of changing the otherwise good stock suspension. Those springs go lower than the HRs and I didn't want to try the bc kit at this point.

But this is what they put together. Maybe they just don't make the B8s anymore and don't care. I'm going to run it, the price was right.

Where are you getting these part numbers?

46-189523 is what comes up for google search at all retailers for “e53 Bilstein B12 pro-kit” I originally found it browsing parts on ECS and have been trying to learn more from there. I’ve never run Eibach springs on e53, only H&R. Interesting that they are lower. I think you’ll be in fine shape. I moved from KW V3’s on 4.8is and they are amazing, but pricey and I’m worried about corrosion in Nebraska.

Sorry, I was asking, where are you looking up the part numbers I pictured and determining that those are B6? Is there some sort of Bilstein part catalog sheet you're looking at? I would just like to see this for myself.

I have the KW v3s on the 340 and they are really nice. They're just stiff and adjustable height which is not really what I wanted for this car. It's not going on the track. The BC racing kit I couldn't do it at this point, at least with the B12 being an option, but maybe it's okay.

I had the bilstein b16 on the 340 as well and they weren't all that great, v3s are notably better. I always spray them with the LPS 3 rust blocker they haven't rusted it's been almost 6 years. The threads wouldn't move at all I wonder if maybe putting fogging oil or something on the threads would be good to keep them moving. A little bit of moly lube on the dry shock rods here and there improves the ride.

Got it. Yea...I just searched your p/n from pics and found 4600-series shocks from Bilstein. I then confirmed that these p/n, individually matched what are being sold as Bilstein B6 by online retailers...FCP, ECS, NAPA, etc. can I ask where you got your kit from?
