Delivery Issue

I just took delivery of a new X5. I ordered truffle brown leather with anthracite wood trim. Delivery took place after dark. As soon as I sat in the vehicle I asked the salesman if the wood trim was anthracite and he assured me it was. When I got home, I looked at the window sticker which was in the glove box and it confirmed that it is actually
dark poplar wood trim.

What do I do?

Can the trim be changed by the dealer and if it can be, is it something that I want to be done or will it look/fit correctly?

Yes it can be swapped out by the dealer to correct the issue but if I were you I'd consider asking them for a monetary compensation for the error and use it for another mod...

Dealer should change for free. You may have the copy of your original order. Heard this before, somebody got titanium when they ordered dark wood.

You should really pester your salesman to have that corrected. You ordered the "X" to your specs and it's their fault for screwing up. Did you track the build progress of your X5 through the Owners Circle?? Because in there the list of ordered options is listed, but in the case of the trim it just says "Wood Trim".

I just picked up my X5 4.4 last Thursday and it's absolutely fantastic. I went with the Gray interior and the Anthracite Wood Trim. Really happy I choose the Anthracite over the other 2 options.

Good luck getting this sorted out. By the way, which dealer did you order your X5 through?? In NY or NJ??

Cheers

When I ordered my X a couple of years back it came in with the wrong trim and they ordered a whole new X5 for me!

btw, thinking about it my X3 (that I did not order, but picked out at the dealer) shipped with different trim on the gearbox & on the door handles.

I pointed this out to the salesmen, who said initially said it was a different tree and that there is different grain in different pieces, but upon looking at the catalogue he agreed to replace the trim free of charge.
