i've had the same thing here in Manchester (UK) i am looking at buying a 3.0i/3.0d sport and in readiness for upgrading to the 4.6/4.8 look (which i plan to do pretty much over night!) i have been scouting round for prices for the various parts.

I emailed my local dealer for prices, which, i got in no time at all,, however i was told that the parts can not be retrofitted, and even if i wanted to to order i couldn't without a chassis number....

this has pi55ed me of given that i have see a few x5's for sale on autotrader that have been upgraded already!!

Shame because the prices were really reasonable...about 1500GBP for the lot painted and fitted, that includes front lip, rear lip ( with end caps ) and arch flares.

is it as easy as getting matey with a 4.6 owner!!??

Just go to the dealer and order them with the relevant part numbers which you can check below....I got mine fom Bmw of Holland Park London.(no chassis no.required!)

I suggest that both you and MYHILLJA give BMW GB a call and maybe they can sort the dealers out!I always find them very cooperative and helpful.
Guys,if this fails,then HERE´S a 4.8 Chassis number(last 7 digits) LE83997.
DGRALLYING the 4.8 rear valance is the same as the 4.6,so you are ok.

It was 900 inc vat for the parts, if they have balls'd up with the rest of the quote then thats there problem...i have it in writing, if they start then it is a phone call to BMW customer service!!!

I did think i was talking to a numpty at the time...

I'd still be happy if it was another 500 quid...
