Just 1 Month Into Ownership And I've Gone MOD-MAD!!!

I just bought my X this month (May 2008) and already, I've put Brembo cross-drilled rotors with akebono pads, painted the calipers red, installed chrome Beyern Multi 20" rims (too many potholes in Brooklyn to go any bigger than 20 but I'd prefer 22's), and a Mul-T-Lock transmission lock (it's a 5spd manual). I changed all the interior lights, backup bulbs, side markers, and license plate bulbs to white leds, rear turn signals to amber leds, and replaced the rear light assembly with a smoked led assembly. I'm literally in the process of clearing out my turn signals and installing a set of umnitza predator chromium angel eyes but I had to go to work (also one of the rings broke during installation but my boy Nick @ Jlevisw.com has a replacement on the way!).

Luckily we have a subway system here in NYC because the headlight assemblies are surely taken apart and strewn across my living room right now (had to go to work). Just before I left, the UPS guy arrived with a package which I'll assume is the HID foglight conversion kit I ordered which came with an upgrade to change my stock HID's to 6000k to match the fogs. The only thing more I want to do is change the interior to brushed aluminum and the only kit I know is available from rover-something on Ebay and it costs $800+. I'm thinking I may take the trim pieces off and paint them along with the kidney grilles with a silver caliper epoxy paint kit (very thick paint with a nice lustre).

OH! And I'd like to remove that bull bar and close up the holes in the front bumper. I think the bull bar makes the X look dated.

Is there anything left to do!!?? I hope I can think of nothing because I've definitely spent well over $9000 between the $2300 spent at the dealer the 1st week, $2600 on the rims the second, $2500 on the extended warranty from carchex.com, $700 on the brakes, and all this other extra stuff. DAMN! I didnt realize it while I was spending. Anyway, as long as I'm happy, right? Check out my Lincoln LS 5spd too. The guy in the picture is the guy I sold it to, not me but as you can see, I was even back then an aspiring BMW owner.

Of course after saying all that I cant the pics I have are too big right? Well at least you'll see my first love Kitt (the Lincoln LS). I'll post pics of Brawn (my new X) later but that's him under my name.

Wow it was great going through this thread beginning to end again. Very nostalgic to see many of the old members as well that we don't see again.

My 3.0i with 19" sport wheels.

Not a lot of mods, but I did have to replace the engine this year, so maybe next year.

Nice! How does the Trailblazer compare to the 4.8is?

It's a toss up really. The TB has more HP and torque, but not near the luxury or refinement of the X5. The noticible difference in driving impressions revolves around the transmission. The TB holds each gear longer while the X5 seems to always be shifting and hunting for the right gear. They are both a blast to drive. I need to get to find a way to get just a bit more torque out of the 4.8.
