New steering wheel FINALLY installed....

I finally got my sport steering wheel installed today at the stealer..........took them all of 10 minutes, maybe 8.

Here are the pics.........I am VERY happy with it. I've been wanting to do this for a few months now, but I finally got a decent deal on an airbag and received it on Tuesday.........

Looks great Chris! Interesting that you went with the +'04 version. I guess since you needed the airbag anyway it didn't matter which version you went with.

Nice, the only thing I do not like about those wheels is they don't have a heating element, or do they?
Anyhow, nice wheel

They are heated, if you have that option already. That's why I went with a Sport Wheel instead of an M.

Thanks, guys.........makes me feel like I'm driving a new vehicle.

I think it does for the interior what my 87's did for the exterior........(ALMOST).

After this addition, I may want to drive it more than 7,000 miles/yr. I'm coming up on my 1 yr. anniversary on 7/23/06..............

how much did the entire setup cost you? I like the new steering wheel much better than the one in my 2001.

I bought the almost brand new steering wheel from a VERY nice Rob Peteuil on this board who had less than 300 miles on it (he replaced his with an ///M wheel) for $150 and I got a decent deal on an airbag from BMW of Nashville for $576 + $12.42 shipping. My local dealer couldn't even beat that deal.......then I had it installed for $92 + tax. It only took them about 10 min. to install, but I was charged for 1 hour labor......oh well, that's the breaks on that one...............

It is kind of expensive, but I feel it was well worth it. I am VERY happy with the results.

The newer sport wheels are actually very nice. I was going to order a new M Sport wheel for my E90 even before I got the car but I wanted to wait and see. I'm glad I did because the new sport steering wheels feel pretty good and thicker than the previous sport wheels. It's still not quite as thick as the M Sport wheel on my X5 but it's close enough to make it a keeper, and I save a few hundred bucks.
