Weird Fan-like Noises

When i accelerate my X, there is a slight drone that sounds like a fan right under/behind my steering wheel.and...it gets louder as i accelerate

Going to take it to the dealership soon...but was just wondering if any1 has any ideas on whut this could be..

Thanks in Advance

ive been havin a similar problem but i jus wouldnt call the noises fan-like...kinda like a whistling but i do know the sound is annoying as hell..

when i took my X to the dealer they said it was the normal sound of belts moving blah blah...idk whatever they said i think its BS...IMO theres no way a BMW should make that kind of constant noise...anyway, let me know what they tell you...thanks man

BMW's maintenance plan does cover belt changes. So if this is the case, tell them to change the belts !

I've taken my twice to have the excessive fan noise investigated...the noise goes away if I turn off the a/c. They told me it was normal. BS! No car should make that much noise!
