Side marker DIY..??

I want to replace the amber side markers on my '01 4.4 X5 to the new clear ones. Is this a DIY, if so, HOW???...

I am not kidding, it is a 1 minute job. This is the easiest mod on the car. Firmly push the side marker forward (toward the front of the car) and it will start to pop out. Then just pull it out enough to reach the bulb, swap it out, and reverse.

I got my from fronts, sides, and rears from Jude at Bimmerfreak.com, who by the way, responded to my email in 1 day and shipped out immediately. The Stealth Bulbs look fantastic. Do a search here and you will come up with 4 or 5 recommended places to buy bulbs.

I popped my ambers out and sprayed them with a light coat/dusting of silver spray paint. Easy mod. Cost: less than a penny. Why pay Bimmian or any other place for the exact same thing? It is recommended to use high heat paint but I used regular Krylon and it's been fine for over two years.

Edit: I only did this for my side markers. For the rears I bought Philips Silvervisions and the fronts have OEM clear bulbs. The look sort of amber because of the amber reflectors and in comparison to the white of the xenons.
