Glad you're OK. Remember, your ride should always be ready to die for you, not the other way around. You can always get another X5., one of the safest cars to be in an accident in.

Glad to hear you're ok mate and sorry about the car. The X5 did what we all hope a car would do for us in such a situation....take the damage and leave us able to walk away.

Hope we'll soon be reading about your 'new' X5. Get well soon.

Post pics when able, might be good to start a wall of honor for X5's that have served valiantly and 'retired'. What say all?

Glad to hear you're OK. You can always replace a car. And in my book another argument for having a decent amount of metal around you.

A few years back my wife was driving with the children on the motorway (in our then vehicle - a Mitsubishi Pajero) and without warning an articulated lorry pulled into her lane taking the side off the Pajero. Fortunately she was able to stay on the carriageway and eventually pull off and stop without any injury. But if she was in a smaller vehicle it could well have been a different story.

Your X5 did its job and protected you - may you have a full & speedy recovery

Lately too many people are sacrificing safety for gas mileage - same thing happened in '74 - I admit some small cars are built stronger than back in the '70's, but this trend toward smaller lighter cars will result in the same rise in accident injuries we had in the '70's - history repeating itself, and we still don't learn
