Winter driving with 19" Turanza non M+S

Hello I'm planning a trip to Reno for a day with non M+S tires 19" Turanza. There are no road restrictions at this time but the weather can change unexpected.
Is it safe to install winter chains/cables?

Good luck finding a chain/cable that will fit those 19s. SCC-chain.com advertised that they have one that will fit the 285 rears, but I trial fitted them on the Turanza (and Pirelli Scopions) - a no go! Although some claimed to have successfully used those SCC chain on the Michelin Diamaris. So, whatever chain/cable you get, make sure to test fit them first regardless of what's indicated on the size/fit label.

A cautionary tale on this thread very recently about chains and the need for snow tires!
Good luck!

Personally I think the Turanza's are a joke in the rain and downright crap in snow or ice. BMW specs only 17" and 18" winter tires for the E53 X5 (check out the posts) and it also states in the manual that chains can only be used with 17" tires.
