Decorative skid plate question

Just a quick question regarding the decorative skid plate. How does it come where it requires painting? I figured it came painted silver. Thanks.

I don't think any dealership in US would ship parts overseas. They probably don't have export license to do that. Maybe some online non dealership stores can do it but I think they will probably charge a lot in shipping. Try to find some friend here to buy those and ship them to you.

So I guess silver is typically what you guys are getting them painted. I'm wondering if I should do alpine white on our white X5.

OK so its primer then spray..... here's the follow-up question.

The material used is listed as urethane (not fiberglass). Now i've never seen urethane parts but my understanding is that unlike fiberglass, urethane IS FLEXIBLE. This means that it is less likely to BREAK if bumped against something. THis also makes it more expensive than fiberglass and is used only in high end stuff.

Question is: Because it is flexible does the paint not crack and peel off? DO you need to use special paint for the urethane? stuf that is flexible after it dries?
