PDC sometimes working, sometimes not

Hi everybody,

can you please help me with this problem. One of my rear pdc sensors started acting weird. Yesterday it stopped working. I order a new one but suddenly it started working again this morning. Few hours later its malfunctioning again. Do you think that problem is in sensor, wiring or pdc module?

New sensor is on the way but I`m not sure if the problem is sensor itself...

thanks for any advice

well check for corrosion around the wiring, if that's ok, turn the PDC on and touch the sensor and see if you can feel the sonar, if that's ok it's probably the module

I have simmilar issues, i can heare all my sensors ticking sound, but they dont work, just a long beep from rear and flashing light on console.
The other day i went to change the tires, and after they lowerd the car it was working. I was offcourse happy about it.
However next time i started the car same thing long beep and flashing light.

Can you please explain what you mean by tuching sensors ?
and the corrosion, where do you mean ? on sensors it self (on the back offcourse) and if so, how do i remove the sensors any guide ?
And last but not least, the long beep from reare it means that the reare sensors are at foult ? or do you get same beep eaven if the foulty sensors are up front ?

yesterday, when it stopped working, I listened to sensors and only one was totaly silent /thicking can be heard on other 3 working sensors../. So I though this was the problem. But today it worked for few hours normally..

One more question. Can I remove the sensor from outside? Just pushing it inwards?

What year/model is your car? There was a recall on the PDC sensor housing built prior to 2/04.

You should then have the new design. Sounds like a bad sensor or contacts. Change the sensor and clean the contacts well.

one more question. when removing rear sensor, should I push it from outside /pull from inside of the bumper/ or should push it from inside of the bumper so it will pop up from it.

Don't know. Do a search or call the parts dept or service dept to ask. You can also look at the new one and probably figure it out from the appearance.
