Question Air conditioner

Every time I start the car the A/C comes on... is there anyway for me turn that feature off, so that the only time it turns on is when i want it to?

Try turning the AC off; then turn the car off; without getting out of the vehicle, lock and unlock the doors; then turn the car back on and see if the AC is now off.

That is probably the only thing I dislike about my BMW. My E46 M3 was the same way, however my 1999 323Ci didn't have the auto air deal...wish it had stayed that way.

I'm not sure why BMW decided to make the air automatically come on.

I shut everything off before turning off the key - auto vent comes on 70% of the time next startup - hell if I know why it decides not to the other 30%
