When did the X5 get digital TV tuners?

Just wondering when digital tuners were first introduced into X5.

I am looking at purchasing a 4.8is and wanted to make sure I get one with a digital tv tuner as the analogue TV service is due to be switched off here soon.

No, With digital TV tuners you can pick up the new digital TV signals that are slowly being phased in.

So would the first 2004 4.8is have a digital TV tuner or would it be analogue?

Cheers

It depends. There are analog only tuners and analog/digital hybrid tuners. BMW didn't make a digital only tuner. If you post the p/n of the tuner then we'll be able to tell.

Is there an easy way to identify, or is there a printed list of numbers or something I can take with me when looking at 4.8is at dealers, so I can determine what has a digital/analogue tuner. Also helps for bargaining with the price too ;-)

No easy way. There are a ton of tuners and I've never seen a complete list anywhere, though some lists do exist. Besides, the tuner is located under the spare tire, next to the battery in an area that is certainly not easily accessible. I doubt a dealer would let you start dismantling half of the trunk to find the p/n of the tuner.

Things are tight in the car market as you would know. Some would let you have a baby with their missus to sell a car at the moment

Can I get this sort of service just asking about prices, I dont need a new car or the baby but some practice with their missus might not go astray.
