I don't see anything wrong with it. The owner may need those tires for his trailing requirements and since we don't know, we shouldn't prejudge based solely on it's looks. It may not be to your taste of having white raised letters on your tires, but to each their own.

If the black lettering was on the outside I doubt you would notice it!

I am starting to wander about this site....... Are we the big snobs most people assume BMW drivers are??? Why do we go seek out other BMW's to critique, I can see if people posted their pictures and asked for comments about their car. But who gives a flip on how someone wants to express their X5, it is their money. Just very sad and looks bad for this sight for us to go out looking for X5's to critique without the owner's asking for our comments, no problem if we were praising something we saw and liked but to just see and dog it out..... Are we that lost???

Maybe whoever owns that X got it with those tires already mounted, perhaps by the previous owner prior to selling it. Not knowing what is expected, maybe the owner thinks it's normal?

99% of the world's population would look at that pic and have no idea what you were referring to.

I hate to tell you, but we're in the minority. To most people they really are "just cars" and tires are just tires.

I'm guessing the owner of that X5 would think you were even crazier for +1/+2 sizing your wheels and tires.
