low dust pads installed at inspection II
I know the low dust pad issue has been beat to death and many have replaced BMW pads with Axxis..........but...FYI.... At the recent inspection II, I needed new pads and rotors and so was keen to switch to a lower dust option. My local BMW specialists' top choice for replacement pads was a semi-metallic, branded 'Jurid'. I've gone with this suggestion and so time will tell on the dust issue; certainly in the first 250 miles, braking performance is great. He commented that the Axxis pads are great except that they do not fit into the caliper quite like the OEM and this gives a 'click' noise when coming to a stop. This is apparently quite minor but once you tune into the click noise, some people find it rather annoying. Scotty. |

Were you able to do this under the free warranty? Did you have to pay some difference between "stock" and low-dust?

clarification
just to clarify, this brake work and the 'inspection II' work was done by a local BMW specialist who is NOT a dealer.
He is a one man operation & only works on German cars. |
