Did you give up any power with your X-pipe? Happy with the AFE?

I dunno. I think I might've lost a little low end torque, but it comes back up top. The power doesn't really go away, it just gets moved somewhere else in the band.

I did both mods so soon after buying the thing last year with 11K miles on it that I couldn't really tell what changes were there. I think I did post here that the AFE seemed to smooth out power delivery- less of a hesitation on acceleration.

The X pipe just makes me giggle. The number of people who remark about how good it sounds is incredible. Most of them say, "I've never heard a BMW that sounds like THAT!" Not too loud, and just smooth enough. I like it.

How hard would it be for you to make a vid for us. Really curious how this sounds.

Yea, I've been working on cars for a really long time. BMWs are no different than any other car to work on... there is some funkiness about then though. It's always good to research before doing anything on these.

Replacing the air bags is pretty strait forward. The front struts swap out like any other strut except for the air line. the rear air bags are just a bunch of clips.... they were the simplest thing I've done so far...

Can anyone tell me if the rear rims of the 2006 4.8is can accommodate smaller size tires (width)? Has anyone tried going with 275/40/20 in all corners? Thank You.
