Not much. I've been busy killing an e38 msport .

I've narrowed the issue down though. The car will fire and run for a while, but misfire as neither the throttle body nor the pedal assembly are doing what they should. Someone knackered up thr post cat O2 sensor wires, and did not wire them back properly, there is an unshielded ground within the O2 sensor looms that are broken on both banks. My next step is to install some new wiring and connect properly. If not, I'll have to assume there's a bad body ground somewhere and will start pin testing to trace the issue. I bought a Bently manual so I can find all the needed grounds for testing.

No luck. My mechanic has tried 7 used or rebuilt modules and none of them will code properly. I asked him if it could be something else with the car that is causing it to not code. He said if it were, it would show up in the diagnostic test.

But what exactly is the car doing? What trouble codes do you have? I've never, ever seem an abs module go bad on am e34 e39 e38 e53, and I've had several of each, parted several of each.

X2 4.6iS....!

So, I have wanted a 4.6 for some time. Found one last December, drove to Long Island and picked it up and just did the guides, etc. Now, an Imola Red one found me and I just picked it up tonight! From non to two in 3 months. I think I have a problem...
The Imola one does have 189K miles, in decent condition. The previous owner was changing the VANOS solenoids and somehow accomplished twisting the threaded part of the distribution piece right off! Thought he needed to change the whole cylinder head and just wanted rid of it. $2K later, it's mine. Will get that replaced and have it running in 2 hours. Good times!
