but this truck is too good to sell.
Paulgt3 thanks a lot that was the most important thing for me - is it reliable. If you can share in what period you service the engine - meaning do you wait for the SERVICE INTERVAL on the onBoard Computer to run out or you do it sooner. Oh yeah and one more thing 3.0i models some of them had kind of knocking from the front end like no specific problem just the front suspension is it present in the 06' 4.8is model too ?

Kelem I have waited for the service interval. Its almost time.
You can do it sooner. The dealer has a computer that will hook
up to your X5 and reset the interval display. I run this truck
in the Mojave desert, which is VERY hot. Today after a very cool
spring (because there is no global warming), it got to 105.
AND I run it in the snow. There is no problems.
Also no knocking as far as I am aware.

BTW sounds like you tested it really good desert ,snow, as far as I know BMW test their vehicles in similar conditions.

Unfortunately that finish isn't cheap, however you can always offset the cost a little by selling your current finish. You can either buy the pieces separately or contact someone like Roveractive for a full kit. Just make sure you get the parts you need and not more or less (i.e. proper shirt know, nav versus CD radio cover, etc.) See here:

Figured im part of the club now.lol. Its an 04 with 44000 miles, Im second owner and car is in great shape. Interior is sport seats, silver trim, with alacantara black and white checker board stuff, will post more pics later. The only thing wierd is when you mash the gas to kickdown mode it seems to have a very slight tick like small exhaust leak, or maybe they all do that??? You cant even hear it unless all the windows are down. Any thoughts on that???
