^I'll swap my HRE wheels over from the 3.0i, LED AE bulbs, maybe LED taillights (not sure yet), roof rails delete, window visors, lowered by DIS and some coding.
I thought that was the coolant leak, windshield washer tank is such a relief

That's what happens when you have a rear coolant manifold gasket flipped around backwards and you're filling the engine with coolant. It all goes right out the back. (You can reverse it and still have all three bolts hold it lol....)

2002 x5 4.6is

Hey Guys:

New Xoutpost member here...longtime BMWCCA member. I recently purchased a new to me, 2002 x5 4.6is. I searched for some time to find a super clean titanium silver with the black cloth interior combination. This particular 4.6 has a verified 30k miles on the odometer.

I would like to take a moment to personally thank everyone here in the community for all of the great insights and information which helped me immensely in my research.

I made my first (and likely only) mod which was to replace the steering wheel with an e46 m3 steering wheel with the tri-color stitch...a perfect compliment to the interior.

I thought I would share with all of you some pics I took recently.

Flickr Link to the Pics:

Enjoy and thanks again!

Nice find. Is that an E39 M5 in the other pic? Love it.

30k miles on the 4.6? Good find. I think you're crazy for owning 2 V8 BMWs though

Bumping this thread for the hell of it, bought my 4.6is about a month ago and I haven't been able to drive it due to a faulty ABS module. I should get the re-man unit installed tomorrow and test out Sport Mode!

Future things I'm already thinking about:

Snow tires: I have all seasons on the OEM 20s. How capable is the X5 on snow with these on? Do most folks run dedicated snows?

Exhaust: probably going to do the X pipe as my first mod. Any reason not to?

Power: New intake? MAF? Chip?

How much snow do you get where you live? OEM summer performance 20s are not good on snow. I have dedicated 19s with snow tires.

Exhaust: search the threads on X-pipe.. on 4.6is its not as effective as 4.8is.
