In replacing my 6 yr old original batt., I bought a Werker from Batteries Plus;
looked very close to oem. Others have bought other brands with success.
Be sure to poke out the vent hole and reattach vent tube. DIY is cake.

I just put in a duralast gold from Autozone today. Perfect fit, has overflow tube on correct side, more CCA and same RC as OEM. Best part is, 3yr free replacement and 8yr pro rated warranty.

I just had to change my battery today. I replaced the OEM battery in my 02 x5 in sep of 2007 with an Interstate MTP-93. After 25 months it developed an internal short, I probably could have desulfated it but no need it had a 30 month replacement and then a prorate warranty. If I had it to do over again I'd probably check to see if I could have gotten an Optima to fit in the battery box or go OEM like.

I replaced mine with a battery from autozone. I bought the battery designed for the 4.4. You just have to move the bracket over but it fits perfect. It has more CCA and its cheaper.

the duralast batteries from autozone is a great value, and they are perfect in the X.

Thanks a lot guys. i don't use the x much and when i go to use it the battery is dead after a week. i slow charged it to day and then stress test it and it still show as good so i don't know. but if i get one its going to be the one from auto-zone only $140 and a good warranty.

Ka0s142: spend <$50 on a Battery Tender...your batt will be fresh every start.
Takes less than a min to plug in/unplug when you want to run the car.
