Guys check this out....pixel repair and GT1 cheap

Hi,look what I found on ebay, the same seller's got a flex ribbon cable for the instruments cluster pixel repair
I think I am gonna get one of those since I already opened the cluster and removed the LCD screen cleaned the terminals and 90 % of my pixels are back w/out changing the ribbon flex cable.
Here's DIY to open the cluster :
PIXEL FIX DIY write up, about a 2 hour job and some patience (Long pic warning)
here's an ebay link for the ribbons :
350514-BMW Pixel Repair Tools on eBay.ca (item 130339963549 end time 24-Nov-09 22:10:07 EST)
I found out from russian bmw forum and guys were able to fix their clusters like that for years already w/out spending a lot of money.
here a GT1 :
I am wondering if it's gonna work, probably there's some kind of risk involved, but if it's a clone of the Original one,I would try it myself :
350515-K-Line Interface for GT1 and INPA on eBay.ca (item 130339778568 end time 24-Nov-09 08:52:20 EST)

Weasel will become famous soon enough
Pertaining to that GT1 link, that is not only not a GT1, but I've never seen or heard of it... it must be some weird imitation GT1 software, but with the availability of the real GT1 software to instal on a laptop computer I would avoid this one.

Hi Weasel!
I am wondering if that interface works with the GT1 imitation on IBM laptop, cause the yellow box interface costs Wayyyy more expensive,so it would be not a bad alternative....
obviously it's kind'a scaring to be first to try.

I'd start by asking for all the details on exactly how it works and what it works with.

I checked the link out and it seems the seller is offering a K-LINE (which is the original link) and a D-CAN (China ECU Tools Centre) version. I wonder what the Yellow Head is equivalent to, K-LINe or D-CAN?
