Ouch that sucks, how much does it cost for a new oil pan. You really got screwed (hehe) but in all seriousness I still cant believe you wont take it back to the GM dealership that messed it up in the first place.

This happenned to a friends M3.
What they did was open the drain plug hole one size up and fitted a corresponding drain plug. They had to remove the oil sump to do it.
If money is no object and you dont want the hassle, then just change the oil sump .......
I wouldnt risk going with any other options.

If the threads are stripped you don't have many alternatives. You're going to have to either repair the thread damage by retapping or you can eliminate the problem by replacing the pan. If you retap the threads an OEM drain plug probably won't fit tightly enough to provide a good seal so you might be forced to find an aftermarket alternative.

Weasel will become famous soon enough
I would not use an butterfly drain plug, and I'll ask the same question as sethro... why not bring it to the GM dealership that stripped it?
