Change Front Park Light Bulb

Help guys,
As the heading says, the front left park light bulb has gone south (for the summer I guess) So I pop the bonnet and attempt to remove it but I'm having a hell of a time actually getting the old park light bulb out. Yes, I have disconnected the electrical connector no probs.

Can somebody give me a heads up and tell me how to best remove for replacement. Do I 'Push and twist counter clockwise', and if so how much ? 1/4 or maybe 1/2 turn. For the life of me I can't get the bugger out and I feel a bit stupid even asking this. And before you say it, yes I've tried ye old 'Search' function with no luck.

In advance, thanks

Foomph

Twist 1/4 turn anti-clockwise and then just wiggle it a bit and pull it out.You are right they are a bit tight ,even after you twist it loose. Its the rubber "o" ring that gets stuck.
You dont need to disconnect the plug!

Thanks powers,
I'll give it another go.
Would it be too much if I took to it with a pair of pliers or similar, or are their bits there to break from attempting removal that way ?? I mean it's stuck good n proper at present.

I have the same problem on my '04. When I put my stock ones on the Euro HLs (it didn't come with them) I have not been able to remove them since.

It turns freely (bit tight) but when I go to pull them it's catching on something. When I installed them it took some force to put them in so I was afraid that this was going to happen. It didn't look like there was any difference between the two headlights.

Sorry don't have any solution for you but I'll be interested what the problem maybe if you figure it out. Good Luck!

Good luck on the fix, X Foomph...
I had the luck of an ol'poster here, Rob_ , a very knowledgeable
former BMW tech, show me the DIY; I changed 3 bulbs over the
course of a few years. Finally had to replace the turn signal relay
harness. It's been 2 years since, with no further bulb problems.

I replaced my last night. As said, twist it until it stops. Then wiggle it up, down, left, right, and pull. Don't use pliers, as they will scratch other plastic parts.

Thanks guys,
Good advice as above, plus I found an old jar of 'Elbow Grease' and took to the bulb housing with some gusto and 'wolla' out it came.

I hope Twins can get his out when he needs to.

So how's my luck of late re bulbs. Both front blinkers and the wretched front park light bulb all went south within a week.

What's most annoying about the blinker bulb scenario is that I'm now finding myself removing both h/light housings in order to replace those bulbs and am unfortunately not in the position to bake and install A/Eyes & remove amber lenses as I would dearly love to do (asides from buying something like what LightWerkz has on offer. Ho hum, down the track hopefully next year.

Good tip, thanks.

What I found when removing the h/light assemblies was how easy it is, the only thing that had me worried was attempting for the first time to remove the trim pieces underneath the h/lights. I followed this helpfull thread: http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/...placement.html but was still none the less very apprehensive about breaking the trim. Nothing broke, all bulbs now replaced.
