disabled radio -dsp - how?!

So i was driving and playing with my nav/radio yesterday and somehow i disabled my dsp option and the radio would not play any sound.

I could change the channel but no sound came out.

The dsp option was greyed out on my screen.

I turned the car off and waited a few mins turned it back on and it was all back to normal.

Any idea how this happened?

Thanks!

DSP PLUG N PLAY

I read today that DSP is plug and play. The difference between DSP and non DSP is the DSP black box and the wiring harness. If you remove the DSP amp, or it comes unplugged/shorts out etc and you have navigation, it seems to dissappear from the screen, but the radio still plays. On my 2001 non nav however, I unplug the DSP amp (which has a horrible loud cracking static even when the radio is turned off) and the DSP selections dissappear for me as well, however, the radio no longer runs. I am looking into purchasing a non dsp wiring harness to see if I can eliminate DSP all together as I won't spend more than $50 let alone $1400 just to have a 2001 CRAP DSP system...

nig,

Please don't beleive the hype. BSW could set you up WAY better than a DSP conversion... This car stereo is the worst I have ever owned. The DSP settings are useless, and when applied make very echoed and distorted sounds. The entire system lacks the crisp highs, even when I had a custom setting EQ, it still sounded like AM radio while playing a CD.
Do a search here, for 1/4 of the cost of purchasing (or finding even used) a DSP wiring harness, amp and subwoofer brick, you could add a nice sub and amp and go from there. Maybe you do some component speakers in the doors with an amp as well. I promise that would treat you much better than DSP!
