Rear Wiper Alignment Issue

Hey guys,

VA here finally melting out of back to back blizzards. After the first one I went out to clean off the X5 and the rear wiper arm was facing downward from the weight of the snow on it. So I pulled it back into place and everything seemed fine.

Blizzard #2 comes and same problem occurs. Return the arm to correct position and go about my business again. Driving down the wet roads I hit the wiped to clean the back and it cleans and then it disappears! Pull over and the arm is facing downward moving slighty back and forth but way off alignment of the window. I try to reposition it several times with now luck. It almost seem as if the arm is "loose". Like theres not enough power to really move it back and forth although is does still move, just not on the window.

Anyone ever experienced this or have any clue as to whats goin on here? Please send and fixes / suggestions/ experiences that may help. Thanks!

Don't know the answer but it might be a nut got loose or maybe something got stripped. Either way just remove the cap and investigate:

RealOEM.com BMW E53 X5 4.8is SINGLE PARTS FOR REAR WINDOW WIPER

Apparently you guys were right. Headed off to a b-day party and when I checked it again the next day the cap and the nut are both missing now. Must have worked its way loose. Any suggestions online for places for replacement parts?
