I just came up with something... the X3 uses the same E70 wiper design but it faces the left and sweeps to the right. You MIGHT be able to retrofit the X3 wiper blade. It looks a little small however. Maybe a tech can chime in.

Is it possible the only major difference in the e70 is a plastic covering of the wiper arm?

Look at the part list. Everything is different, including the motor.

My rear wiper got ripped off in the car wash and the one they bought me was from post #11 - for the X3. I didn't think it'd fit but it did and it looks better. I don't think it does a good job of wiping at the top of it's travel however. I'll probably go back to the X5 style.

Interesting. Can you post some pictures of the setup? Also, have you considered installing just a longer wiper insert so that it covers more area?

The E53 rear wipper seems so outdated and uglyyyyyy like it's from a fiat junky 78'!! not to mention how sometimes it stops lower than normal and reaches the metal....
