Same boat here...I've got only 29k on my 03 x5 3.0 sport...

Have already replaced the following:
AC Therm
AC Evap
Alternator
Window Motors

I LOVE my X5...but I also HATE it when I have to take it in for Maintenance...I want a new one but this beast is already paid for and I'm not ready to take on any more car payments.

Your 4.4 is sweet....Personnally, I would keep it but only if you are ready for potential hiccups and time spent in the shop for repair.

At this point, there are any time spent in the shop will be more than a hiccup.

It's really an offer I can't refuse. He took another test drive today, says he will call me tomorrow with a final offer. I think he'll offer me 17K, but we'll probably settle at 17.5k

The more I tell him about the car the less I want to sell

Add that up then project the worse case regarding
repairs on the vehicle you now own. Which one is cheaper?

Your car probably doesn't blue book for that much so in my eyes, its better in your interest to accept that offer. How come the price is 17.5-18k and not a solid offer? Whats the $500 depending on?
KBB on an '03 4.4 with 73K miles is $18K (putting in my ZIP here in Dallas). So, it's on par with what it's worth.
