The depos will work. On the 4.8is, there is an air box air tunnel that needs to be removed.
You will also need to make a connector to convert the h11 plug to the plug that fits in the projector fog housing

I bought the H11 plugs from eBay. As for the OEM plugs, I found them on realOEM.

Lemans,
Thanks for the info. I'll get a set of the pre facelift versions and install them.

Sorry to revive this old thread but I am serious about changing my fogs to HID and would like if someone could confirm if what I am doing is right.
First my car is 2005 X5 3.0i (facelift) with standard fogs that use h11 connectors. So if I get the projectors from Latvia (which uses h3 bulbs) I would need to get a HID Kit that contains h3 bulbs, correct? Would the DDM Tuning kit (h3 bulb w/ error eliminator) work? Do I also need the weatherpack h11 male connectors AS WELL AS the BMW OE Connectors parts 61138373332 and 61130007256? Thanks

There is a few long detailed threads about this.
I had hid fogs in the Depo projectors (they can be sourced in the USA now) and had a defect in one, so I got OE Valeo projector fogs from the dealer and love them. They were 100 per side. All the projector fogs take an H3 bulb so yes you need an hid kit for H3. I recommend theretrofitsource.com for hid materials, pricier than DDM but their customer service is on point, the warranty, and their bulbs are higher quality in my experience then DDM. H3C 4300k is what I used, with 3five ballasts and the canbus harnesses (for error elimination) If you use the TRS kit you can request the canbus harness in H11 fitment, as that plugs into the stock harness and is inline with the ballast. You won't need any additional connector. The weather pack male is more for the different connections between the pre and post facelift fog light harnesses. Good luck and please search "projector fogs on facelift" thread as its approx 20 pages long and plenty of info
