The cone of the plunger doesn't appear to be removable
Was anyone able to remove it? I tried the parts from this tutorial but they don't work well. There are proper rebuild kits for $30 https://www.ebay.com/itm/173087670820 But I don't know if it's worth it, you can buy a new one for $30 as well https://www.ebay.com/itm/282323254480 Granted Topaz is a cheap Chinese brand but it had great reviews. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B06XX854LZ/..._8-GHEbNJEER3R The doubt I'm having of going with the rebuild kit is that I would have no choice but to stretch the rubber to get it over the plunger cone. It will stretch the rubber and create micro tears. The other disadvantage is that I only found those kits in Russia, Ukraine and Poland, so that's about 30 day shipping time. I saw lots of YouTube videos and on most on them, this plunger comes apart. On some, however, it doesn't. I definitely see that in my case it doesn't come apart. |

In the end I was able to twist off the top. But be careful, there's a thin plastic inside. Very easy to break.
Make sure you use some kind of cloth when grabbing the cope with visegrips to prevent damaging the metal. This kit includes everything including the cones, but I think it's too expensive https://www.ebay.com/itm/112177753023 Last edited by Bmwe5320023.0; 04-02-2020 at 01:25 PM. |
