I have a 2003 4.6iS Sapphire met/black LN79887. Has Dinan blower, strut brace, and exhaust, but no plaque under the hood or badge on the tailgate. Not sure when the Dinan goodies were installed.

Were you at the Sonic Meet in Centennial last summer? I recalled another X5 being there with the SC in that color?

No, I bought it in Miami in December. I think I know the car you’re talking about and it’s owned by a guy in Foxfield.

I am now the owner of Burninator's SC 4.6. Got deets form Dinan directly. The car was S3'd in November of 2003 a few months after being purchased new. Dinan badge was issue with the car but I guess never installed (was given the option to buy a "replacement" for $90). Car does not qualify for the under-hood plaque due to it not being a full S3 conversion, it lacks the brakes.

Having lots of fun. . .paying for gas hahaa. Its awesome watching the faces of unsuspecting folks in mustangs and chargers as I pull away from them. Also I think I found where that oil leak was coming from. Great fun this thing is, and the kids love it especially my 10 month old girl.

I broke the supercharger tensioner arm this weekend. I muscled it too much trying to get the new belt on. But out of tragedy comes a positive, not wanting to spend $250 on a Dinan tensioner (which is NOT a Dinan made part) I found the following:
The tensioner body is a DAYCO 89201 available over the counter at Advance Auto for around $50 The center crowned idler pulley is a DAYCO 89104 $30 There is one piece of additional hardware which is a bushing for the mounting bolt of the idler, I'm not sure of origin but if you have the old one you could reuse it or measure and order something to match. The idler mounting hole on the tensioner arm is a 7/16-14 LEFT HAND thread. It is NOT threaded all the way through from the factory (DAYCO). Dinan extends this thread all the way through the arm and replaces the bolt with a Grade 8 fastener that extends through the arm. Hope this helps someone because it took me a couple days to get this info together. Last edited by Nolimite39; 09-16-2020 at 10:05 AM. Reason: Additional info |

Nice find on that pulley!! It’s things just like this that help all of us keep them on the road as they continue to age
