x5 4.4i After market Battery
I just took the car in for service and BMW is claiming it is all related to the aftermarket battery. In these posts I see many other folks asking the same questions, do I really need to pay over $350 USD for a battery when I can buy one down the road for $70-100 USD? I'd like to understand what output (voltage and amperage) the battery should be providing to the car and if there is any one else who is experiencing the same issue. (Or is my dealer trying to make a few extra bucks off me???)

If the battery is indeed faulty,then just get a replacememt under warranty from where you got it and it wont cost you nothing! The spec of your battery should be 90AH 720A.

I have had an interstate in mine for more than 2 years with no issue. battery is a battery, nothing magic about one with a BMW logo on it!!

those symptoms seem to me completely unrelated to battery or alternator. BTW - once the car is started the battery is totally out of the equation if the alternator is working properly.

Where did u get a price of 350? I just paid under 200 for a BMW battery at the dealer.

The seat belt warning going off randomly and airbag light both point to the passengers seat mat sensor... I wonder what codes were stored for them to equate that to the battery????
Do you have a copy of the work order and/or can obtain the diagnostic paperwork?
